Surprise

As if we weren't already surprised enough just being pregnant, having a girl is just another shocker!  Don't get me wrong, I would have been thrilled for another boy... I just never thought a girl would be possible.  Bit of information:  it's the male's sperm that determine's the gender of the baby.  Out of Grant's five brothers, there's been 15 grandkids produced, and only 3 are girls!  Very low probability, if you ask me.

I love my boys, and I'm glad I had them first.  I think it's because I always wanted an older brother growing up, now baby girl will get two sweet ones to watch her back.  Noah is thrilled for a girl.  He's been telling us the last few months that it was going to be a girl and that we're going to name her Lucy.  (I think he has a girl in his class named Lucy that he has a crush on or something.)  It will be interesting again coming up with another name that the two of us can agree on though.  I've had one in mind before knowing Davis was a boy, so now I just have to keep trying to convince Grant of it.  ;)

Anyway, so we had a regular checkup yesterday, no ultrasound scheduled, but my doc said they'd let me do a quick one to peek for the gender.  Right away when she put it on my belly, I saw it and said, "That looks like a girl to me!"  Since I had so many ultrasounds with my ivf babies, I've seen lots of boy ultrasounds and I immediately recognized nothing between the legs on this one!  I kept asking, "You're sure, right?  You're not going to change your mind on me next time I'm here for my big 20 week ultrasound appointment, are you?"  For some reason I keep thinking in the back of my mind that they're going to say they were wrong at my next appointment.  But until then, we are thrilled.  Grant said right away in the room, "Oh man, this is going to cost us a fortune."  Seriously, we have so much boy stuff.  This will be a fun change though.  I'm really excited, but nervous at the same time.  All I know is boy, but bring on the PINK!
