So, I got a phone call from one of the nurses from my infertility doctor's office today... she tells me she has bad news. I was panicing... I thought she was going to tell me all of our frozen embryos didn't make it, or they lost them, or they put them in another woman's uterus, or something crazy like that. Welllll..... turns out my infertility doctor died over the weekend. What the?!? Okay, so now what?
Apparently they were calling all patients who are in the midst of going through the whole process, or who are gearing up for it... I guess he has two "backup" doctors that help out every once in a while who have also been doing ivf for a long time themselves, who will be seeing patients in his office until further notice. Anyway, so I guess we'll see what's going to happen. Ummm... crazy.

{insert violin music here}
What a crappy day yesterday.
-Drove to Milwaukee with a very tired, very whiney and honery toddler to have my blood test
-Came home, got the dreaded phone call with negative results
-Bawled my eyes out
-Went to the gym and fought back tears as I stepped my little heart out on the revolving staircase, then ran my heart out on the treadmill
-Came home and shed a few more tears
-Noah tumbled down the stairs from the top of the staircase
-Grant checks to make sure he is not paralyzed or has a spinal cord injury (as Grant suffers from paranoia with anything having to do with Noah).... he's fine, by the way.
-Made my favorite oatmeal chocolate chip cookies
-Ate said cookies, and cookie dough
-**highlight of the day** opened the mail with a Nordstrom gift card waiting for me to spend :)
Sometimes I think Heavenly Father is waiting to give me another baby until I can learn to have a little more patience with my first child. :)
Well anyway, it is a good thing we were able to freeze 12 embryos, so hopefully we will be able to try again in the near future. (Noah came from a frozen embryo, so you just never know.......) Time to break open the piggy bank! At least now I can stop the 2 inch needle progesterone injections into my bum every night. There's looking to the bright side.

day off
Yesterday and today are my day's off from being a mom. I've been relaxing since we did our egg retrieval for IVF yesterday. They got 36, yes, 36 eggs from me!! Remember, normally during a cycle a woman has only one egg. No wonder I've been in quite a bit of pain lately. My ovaries feel like the size of grapefruits! (Can you tell I have no issues about talking about this kind of stuff?) :)
Anyway, so we've been trying to wean Noah off of Nick Jr. He was getting a little too addicted to the TV (lots of drives to Milwaukee and dr's appointments made me resort to our portable dvd player), and in my state of bed rest, we have had to turn him to other entertainment. This little guy LOVES looking at our photo albums. He loves seeing pictures of me and Grant, as well as our extended families. When he see's photos of Brandon (my bro), he always does the ape, crawling around on his knuckles and beating his chest like a gorilla.... something Brandon taught him when we were there for Christmas. It's pretty funny.
And here is my best attempt at getting a shot of the two of us. Noah was thrilled when I got the camera out, and wanted to take some pictures, but I have yet to have him smile on command. Notice the buzz cut Grant gave him last Saturday. :(

So there's that for our exciting day.
My mom is coming next week since we will be doing the actual ivf transfer on Monday, if all goes according to plan, and I am not supposed to lift over 10 lbs. for a few days. Not sure how I will survive not being able to workout for some time. I guess if we get pregnant, a few extra lbs. really doesn't matter though, right? We are excited and nervous.... hoping it all goes well. Keep your fingers and toes crossed. :)
