I keep thinking, "boy, it would sure be fun to move back to Utah where we could be near our families." But seriously, there is so much to do in Chicago, it's ridiculous. And free too!
There are so many parks in Chicago and last night we went to a park district sponsored event where Mr. Singer was performing, and there were all kinds of reptiles for the kiddos to hold and pet. Noah was loving this gigantic snake. It was quite the event and Noah was in heaven. Apparantley they do this a few times a week and travel to different parks around the city. How great is that?!
Here was a little aligator. This guy was a little overwhelmed trying to keep all of those kiddos fingers away from the gator's mouth. Pretty funny.
Today we had playgroup at the beach and helped celebrate Jude's birthday. Noah was a little stubborn (surprise, surprise) and wouldn't get in the picture with his buddies Jude and Max. You can see Davis' chubby legs as he snoozes in the stroller though. :) I love that the beach is ridiculously close to us.
Once or twice a week, maybe even more, who knows, there are free music performances in this huge outdoor concert/pavillion type place right in the middle of downtown, Millenium Park. It gets packed with people picnicing and sipping on wine. The music is always great and Noah has a great time busting out some of his crazy dance moves.
Yesterday morning I did another run along Lake Shore Drive. I left just before 6 a.m. (I am so NOT an early riser, as opposed to my crazy husband who gets up at 4:30 every morning), so I think Grant was kind of shocked when I actually got out of bed early. :) Anyway, it was beautiful and so peaceful. The waves were crashing and there were already a bunch of people out running and bicycling. I felt like I was running along the ocean, but with the city just right there. This is going to have to be a new must for some great "me" time without the kiddos every week. It really was invigorating.
Have I convinced anyone else to come visit us yet?! :) It really is great here, but it is nice being near family too. (free babysitter, anyone?!)
