miracle

I went to run a few errands today. On my way home, as I was passing by Draper, my heart sank..... I realized that I had started boiling some eggs on the stove a little while before I had left, and I completely forgot to turn the stove off when I left the house. I was gone for probably two hours with the stove on. I started speeding home so fast, and as I came around the point of the mountain, I thought for sure I was going to see my home in flames on the hillside! I flew through the red light on Frontage Road, and sped up to my house. I have never prayed so hard in my life! Okay, maybe I have, but I thought for sure I had burned our home down. Luckily, I came home to a house in tact, and only a horrible smell of burned eggs. Hallelujah!!

The latest

A bunch of friends came to town for Keri's bridal shower a couple of weeks ago (not everyone is pictured...sorry gals). We had so much fun catching up and celebrating Keri's upcoming wedding in May!Noah is finally crawling...yes, 10 months and all....so we have a lazy child...who gives? j/k BTW, can I just say how much happier this child is now that his ear problems are solved? I love him!!
Grant had to work in L.A. last week, so I couldn't resist buying myself a plane ticket and tagging along with him. It's always nice getting a break from our "spring" here in Utah. (I think spring is almost non-existant in Utah. It seemed like last year we went straight from blizzard weather to summer!) Grant and Noah are obsessed with planes and love to look out of the window. :)We spent a day at Newport Beach, visited grandpa and grandma in Anaheim Hills, and of course did a little shopping. We saw Heidi Klum and Seal at the Grove on Friday. She is smokin' hot.

Of course Noah loved the sand, and he loved watching all of the seagulls. He also liked checking out all of the girls in their bikinis. Yes, he is a ladies man......he really does love the ladies already. :)

Now we are back to winter in Utah. Seriously........bring on summer already!

He survived

Noah's surgery was a piece of cake on Tuesday. It literally took about 10 minutes, and he wasn't even crying when they brought him out to me (they warned me that he would be screaming, but luckily he was great).
Grant and I got the biggest kick out of his hospital gown. I think it was hilarious they made him wear one....they later put the non-slip booties on him....just in case he got up and started running around. j/k. Here's to a baby with no more ear infections! :)

Tubes

This little kiddo is going in to get tubes in his ears bright and early tomorrow morning. I hope this makes him a happier baby. Poor thing has had so many ear infections in his short little lifetime. It should be a quick and easy surgery, but it always makes me nervous when someone has to go "under".....especially with him being so little. Anyway, I'm sure he'll be fine. Wish him luck! (And me....Grant will be leaving town in the morning as well.)

Too much information?

Above is a picture of a normal tick, and an engorged tick......................
The second picture is how I am feeling right now, as I am working on weaning Noah....painful picture, huh? Haha. :)

Blogworthy

So tonight I went over to my parent's rental house on my way home from the gym (they are renting a home near Thanksgiving Point while they take their time looking for a home to buy in Utah). I was telling Sheree and my mom a story, when I froze and my heart just about stopped beating...... the center stone of my wedding ring was GONE! I almost died!! What was I going to do? Where the H could it have fallen out?! I was sure some lucky stranger was going to be the proud new owner of a one and a half carat diamond. We started scouring the floor, etc, and I was sure it was gone. Sheree checked my car (in the dark, mind you), and I thought there was no way it would be found out there. LOW AND BEHOLD.........
Sheree found it in Noah's carseat!!!
Noah is clapping out of excitement! I was so relieved. I thought I would be going ringless for a long time.
Time to insure this bad boy!! I still cannot believe she found it. I guess I owe her big time.

Hawaii

Oh man...where do I start? We had the worst flight to Hawaii... 6 and 1/2 hour flight, and Noah threw up all over himslef and Grant (a HUGE vomit, mind you), only about 1 hour into the flight. He then managed to spill our diet cokes all over us. He had a stuffy nose, so his ears were hurting him on the landing, and he screamed for about 30 minutes (very loudly) straight. Luckily our friend Jill was on our same flight and had an extra onesie, since I didn't pack any extra clothes for the flight (who knew?!).
Noah LOVED the water! He got so mad every time we took him away from it. It was so windy while we were there, so unfortunately we weren't able to spend enough time in the water with him. It was just too cold for the little guy (and me...I'm a cold water wimp).
Our last day of the trip we drove up the coast to see some big surf and caught some whale watching as well. It was the highlight for me. I was amazed watching the surfers on such huge waves! They sure have guts....especially considering there's gotta be sharks out there (I'm terrified of those beasts).

Noah looks happy in all of these pictures.....don't let him fool you.... he was a naughty baby the whole trip! He was sick though.....had a nasty cough the whole week, and ear infection, and managed to get his two upper teeth while we were there. Next year he may be staying home!
This is the day before we left...one of the only times we spent at the pool, before the wind started howling again and it got too cold!

Tired, grumpy baby, finally fell asleep while Grant did a surf lesson. Notice the grey sky? I feel gyped by Hawaii. ;)
On our way to the airport...finally heading home!! Luckily the flight home was much better than the flight out there, even though it was an exhausting red-eye.

We had a nice time in Hawaii, but I have to say that I think Hawaii is a little over-rated. I must have just gone there with too high expectations. Maybe it was just the wind, sick/grumpy baby, horrible flight out there, etc....but it wasn't as great I was expecting! It may also have to do with the fact that our trip last year to Costa Rica was just out of sight amazing! I guess I can't complain though since it was a free trip. Maybe next year, we will go BABY FREE. :)
