day off

Yesterday and today are my day's off from being a mom. I've been relaxing since we did our egg retrieval for IVF yesterday. They got 36, yes, 36 eggs from me!! Remember, normally during a cycle a woman has only one egg. No wonder I've been in quite a bit of pain lately. My ovaries feel like the size of grapefruits! (Can you tell I have no issues about talking about this kind of stuff?) :)

Anyway, so we've been trying to wean Noah off of Nick Jr. He was getting a little too addicted to the TV (lots of drives to Milwaukee and dr's appointments made me resort to our portable dvd player), and in my state of bed rest, we have had to turn him to other entertainment. This little guy LOVES looking at our photo albums. He loves seeing pictures of me and Grant, as well as our extended families. When he see's photos of Brandon (my bro), he always does the ape, crawling around on his knuckles and beating his chest like a gorilla.... something Brandon taught him when we were there for Christmas. It's pretty funny. And here is my best attempt at getting a shot of the two of us. Noah was thrilled when I got the camera out, and wanted to take some pictures, but I have yet to have him smile on command. Notice the buzz cut Grant gave him last Saturday. :(
So there's that for our exciting day.
My mom is coming next week since we will be doing the actual ivf transfer on Monday, if all goes according to plan, and I am not supposed to lift over 10 lbs. for a few days. Not sure how I will survive not being able to workout for some time. I guess if we get pregnant, a few extra lbs. really doesn't matter though, right? We are excited and nervous.... hoping it all goes well. Keep your fingers and toes crossed. :)

I know...crazy, huh? Only 21 fertilized into embryos though, and they say about 50% of that should make it 'till Monday, so we'll see!!

Dang Bri, I'm so sorry you have to go through all of this. I guess I should not complain about the $5,000 we have to pay for a baby. I completely understand about the whole Nick Jr thing, Carson is on that kick too. He is much better than he was but it is so hard when I feel so crapy to get him outside or something to distract him from TV. But I will totally be praying that IVF takes the first time. I think we need another Justin concert to take your mind off it like last time.
